The startup Bees Airline received the long-awaited operating license and the AOC from the civil aviation authority of Ukraine. The carrier plans to operate the first commercial flights from Kiev-Schuljany to Sharm el Sheikh on March 18, 2021.

The new airline's home base is Schuljany Airport, which is located within the city of Kiev. This bears the IATA code IEV and is served by Motor Sich Airlines, Wizz Air, Alitalia and numerous other airlines, among others. Most airlines, however, use Borispil Airport, which is located a long way from the Ukrainian capital.

Bees Airlines handed over the a few days ago first Boeing 737-800 to Kiev-Schuljany. The fleet will initially consist of two machines of this type. The registrations are UR-UBA and URBB. Both aircraft were previously used by Ukraine International. The painting was carried out in Woendsrecht, the Netherlands. Another two Boeing 2021-737s are expected to join the fleet in May 800. It is still unclear where the two additional machines will come from.
