The Lilihill Group, majority owner of Klagenfurt Airport, unsurprisingly welcomes the decision of the Carinthian state government that the call option will not be exercised as requested by ÖVP state councilor Martin Gruber and the Carinthian Chamber of Commerce, among others.

In a media statement, Lilihill writes, among other things, that one is of the opinion that "misunderstandings" towards the collegium of the Carinthian state government could be cleared up within the framework of the most recent discussions and presentations. It is believed that the plans presented last year, which include Airport City, "can now be launched without further political disruption."

According to Lilihill, they want to invite representatives of the state of Carinthia and the city of Klagenfurt to a round table and present a package of measures that should lead to the implementation of the further development steps planned for the airport as soon as possible. Lilihill also points out that in addition to Austrian Airlines, Eurowings and Ryanair, intensive talks are also being held with other airlines.
