A compromise was reached at Klagenfurt Airport during a round of negotiations attended by representatives of Lilihill, the City of Klagenfurt and the Province of Carinthia. This is intended to settle the disputes that have been going on publicly for some time.

The settlement also means that the controversial lease of airport land to Lilihill sister companies is not carried out. So should the Lawsuit brought by shareholder KBV, be lapsed. In a press release, the private majority owner takes the view that the minority shareholders have been accommodated.

A "ten-point agreement for the future of Klagenfurt Airport" was drawn up. The details are to be finalized in further talks by September 30, 2022. “Lilihill will stick to the agreement to the letter and expects all negotiating partners to do the same. The time of blockades, tactical and media games must finally be a thing of the past and a new chapter of professional cooperation and constructive cooperation must be opened,” said the group of companies around Franz Orasch in a media statement. “The 10-point agreement clearly defines how and in which direction Klagenfurt Airport will develop. This includes, for example, the offer of an international hub connection, the mandatory modernization and expansion of the airport and the award of building rights for the realization of the Aviation City and thus for clearly defined project purposes. The much-discussed lease agreement will be dissolved step by step after the final agreements have been submitted, which means that the lawsuit filed against it is also irrelevant. Lilihill considers the result of the talks with the city of Klagenfurt and the state of Carinthia to be a real turning point in the interests of the airport, the city of Klagenfurt and Carinthia as a business location. A good day for the airport and a victory for common sense”.
