According to Statistics Austria, the Austrian regional airport Klagenfurt handled 49.100 passengers between January and November of the previous year. It is to be expected that there were around 2020 travelers over the full year 50.000. The two scheduled routes to Cologne / Bonn (Eurowings) and Vienna (Austrian Airlines) are currently suspended.

The "Kleine Zeitung" reports that the partially privatized airport increased its loss to 2019 million euros in the 2,48 financial year. How high this was in the corona year 2020 is currently unclear, as no information is given on the airport's current economic data. Klagenfurt Airport is 74,9 percent owned by the Lilihill Group around Franz Peter Orasch. The state of Carinthia holds 20 percent and the city of Klagenfurt just over five percent.
