Climate ticket also available in apps from the end of November 2023

The climate ticket, which is valid throughout Austria, will also be available in digital form from November 27, 2023. Contrary to the original announcement, there will be no separate app and it will not appear in the “digital office” either.

In the future, it will be possible to read the network map into the applications of Westbahn, ÖBB and Wiener Linien and then show it digitally. For a long time, the Ministry of Transport, led by Leonore Gewessler, was unable to get the Aztec code printed on the plastic cards into an app. Now we should start with three existing apps. Apparently more from municipal utilities and transport associations will follow shortly.
