Since the introduction of the Austrian climate ticket, the private railway operator Westbahn has had around four million passengers on board who have used their network card. The nationwide valid ticket was introduced on November 26, 2021.

“The KTÖ is a success, there is no other way to put it. And we get constant feedback from our customers about how much they like to use it in the Westbahn,” explains Bettina Praschinger, Head of Marketing at Westbahn. "Thanks to the free upgrade to Comfort Class, the included seat reservation and the opportunity to collect Westbahn tickets - by the way, even double the amount when using the Relax Check-in - we are often the first choice for everyone with KTÖ from Vienna to Innsbruck. If someone is traveling to Rosenheim or Munich, there is the KlimaPlus ticket as a cheap supplement to the KTÖ. Climate protection is often easier than you think - with the KTÖ it's really quite uncomplicated."
