From November 5, KLM Cityhopper will introduce virtual reality training for pilots who fly Embraer 175 and 190 aircraft. The VR training courses were specially developed for training purposes, they should also lead to cost savings. The KLM subsidiary is the first airline to integrate VR into its pilot training for Embraer aircraft.

“Virtual Reality (VR) makes training more accessible. VR is on-demand and location-independent - pilots don't need to be in a classroom or simulator at any given time. It also invites them to explore something they can safely do in a virtual environment, ”says Sebastian Gerkens, Senior Instructor Embraer at KLM Cityhopper. "With VR, pilots can familiarize themselves with the cockpit in advance so they can use their simulator time more effectively."
