KLM introduces Covid-19 check

Checking the Corona travel documents required for entry is now part of a flight like the recurring security check - there is (almost) no way around it. So that nothing really goes wrong, KLM customers can now have their documents checked in advance.

Entry requirements change every day. It is difficult to keep track of things. The airline would now like to counteract this and is launching a new service to relieve customers of at least some of the stresses and strains of their travel. The digital self-service bears the name "Upload@Home" and checks all necessary travel documents before visiting the airport. Missing documents can therefore be reacted to in advance.

This is how it works Covid-19 Check/Home@Upload

First of all, customers receive a link and can use it to upload all documents up to five hours before departure. The result of the check should usually be available after an hour and it replaces a new check at the check-in counter. Thus, a lot of time can be saved here. KLM staff performing the test are available between 06:00 a.m. and 22:00 p.m.

The online check is initially limited to flights to Amsterdam and from or via Amsterdam to Curaçao, Dubai, Lima, St. Martin, Istanbul, Germany and Spain. The number of destinations for which upload@home availability is expected to increase in the near future, the company informs.

“Traveling is currently complicated because the countries set different entry regulations that can change quickly. It is important for KLM to relieve our customers as much as possible. That is why the COVID-19 check from KLM | upload@home developed. This innovative service enables KLM customers to get to the airport with peace of mind, as they are sure that they have the necessary COVID-19 travel documents in order, ”said Boet Kreiken, Executive Vice President Customer Experience KLM.
