The airline KLM wants to offer WiFi on its Boeing 737 fleet. Two machines are already equipped with a Viasat system. This was officially used for the first time on Friday, so that travelers can now use the Internet on board.

The carrier plans to equip 16 more Boeing 737s with this technology by the end of the year. For the time being, internet access is to be made available free of charge, but you will be asked to pay for it shortly. A cover letter from the airline shows that the “test period” is limited to just one week.

The Embraer fleet operated by KLM Cityhopper is also to be at least partially equipped with Viasat WLAN technology. For the time being, this is limited to the new additions of the E195-E2. A final decision has not yet been made about the possible retrofitting of the older units.
