Due to the currently weak demand, which is likely to intensify again due to the "second lockdown", but also the impending forced quarantine from November 8, 2020, Cologne / Bonn Airport is closing Terminal 2.

All processes such as check-in, arrivals and boarding are temporarily carried out exclusively in Terminal 1. This measure delimits arriving travelers from so-called risk areas structurally, because the T2 will not go into complete hibernation: in future, all arrivals from risk regions defined by the RKI will take place here.
