Korean Air will return to Prague Airport in the Czech Republic after a long absence. For the time being, the comeback is only short-lived, because initially only four laps are scheduled.
Flight number KE8969 will be used on December 16, 2022 and January 7, 2023 with a Boeing 777-300ER from Seoul to Prague. The return flights are scheduled to operate on December 17, 2022 and January 8, 2023 respectively as KE8970.
In the past, Korean Air, in cooperation with SkyTeam partner CSA, in which it once held a stake, operated a regular long-haul service between the two capitals. CSA has since shrunk to just one leased Airbus A320 and now only serves the Prague-Paris route. Korean Air no longer holds a stake in the Czech airline, having sold its shares to Smartwings some time ago. Due to the insolvency proceedings, Smartwings shareholders now own the majority of CSA's shares.
