Korean Air will return to Prague Airport in the Czech Republic after a long absence. For the time being, the comeback is only short-lived, because initially only four laps are scheduled.

Flight number KE8969 will be used on December 16, 2022 and January 7, 2023 with a Boeing 777-300ER from Seoul to Prague. The return flights are scheduled to operate on December 17, 2022 and January 8, 2023 respectively as KE8970.

In the past, Korean Air operated a regular long-haul service between the two capitals in cooperation with Skyteam's partner CSA, in which it once had a stake. Meanwhile, CSA is up shrunk down to just a leased Airbus A320 and only serves the Prague-Paris route. Also, Korean Air is no longer involved in the Czech airline. The shares were sold to Smartwings a long time ago. Due to the insolvency proceedings, it is now majority owned by the Smartwings shareholders.
