Kuala Lumpur: Pakistan International Airlines B777 seized again

On May 29, 2023, the pilots of Pakistan International Airlines flight PK894 got a nasty surprise after landing in Kuala Lumpur. Due to a court order, the AP-BMH was put on the chain.

As a result, the return flight to Islamabad initially had to be canceled because the Boeing 777-200 was temporarily no longer allowed to leave Malaysia. It is not the first time that this machine has been confiscated, as it was chained back in 2021 by a court order in Kuala Lumpur.

The judicial measure is based on the fact that PIA and the lessor of AP-BMH are engaged in a fierce legal dispute. The Arynews portal reports that Lessor claims that around four million euros in leasing rates should be open. PIA does not comment on this sum. Following the incident, the carrier flown in the Boeing 777-200 with the registration AP-BHX from Karachi. This then brought the affected passengers to Islamabad with a 13-hour delay.
