In the last few days rumors have emerged that Austrian Airlines could start non-stop flights between Vienna and Miami at short notice. These were also fueled by the fact that the sister company Swiss made reductions from Zurich.

The Cape Town route will be included in the upcoming winter flight schedule 2021/2022 not served. At least in theory, aircraft would be available for round trips in Miami. There is currently a high demand in transatlantic traffic due to the imminent opening of the US border for vaccinated people. That’s the theory.

In practice, however, it looks completely different, because Austrian Airlines confirmed to Aviation Direct that it has no plans to start a flight connection between Vienna and Miami at short notice. "We can not confirm that," a spokeswoman for the company clarified when asked.
