Golf carrier Kuwait Airways is planning to return to Vienna-Schwechat Airport in mid-June 2022. The current plan is for the comeback flight to take place on June 12, 2022. The intention is to serve the Kuwait City route seasonally for the time being.

For the time being, the airline wants to fly twice a week between the two capitals. The plan is to use the Airbus A320 machine type. The flights are offered on the traffic days Thursday and Sunday.

Kuwait Airways has been offering a seasonal flight connection from Vienna to Kuwait City for several years. The airline is one of the smaller Gulf carriers and carries around 4,5 million passengers a year. The home base is Kuwait City Airport.

The Gulf carrier's fleet currently consists of seven Airbus A320, six A320neo, five A330-200, two A330-800neo and ten Boeing 777-300ER as well as several business jets. These are an ACJ319-100, an ACJ320, two ACJ340-500, a Boeing 737-900BBJ and a 747-8BBJ.
