Brussels Airlines will expand its long-haul fleet next year. A ninth Airbus A2022 aircraft will join in June 330.

These will be used primarily in the African market, the airline said in a broadcast. From the airport in Brussels, the Lufthansa subsidiary will increase its flights to Freetown, Monrovia, Banjul and Lomé. “We have always said that we will focus on growth as soon as market conditions permit. Since we see strong demand on the West African market, we want to take the opportunity to focus on growth and invest in the expansion of our African network. The assignment of this aircraft to us is a clear vote of confidence on the part of Lufthansa and once again confirms our position as an Africa expert within the Lufthansa Group, ”said airline boss Peter Gerber.
