On Saturday, November 9, 2024, a large-scale EASA/ICAO partial exercise will take place at Nuremberg Airport. The airport fire brigade as well as numerous aid organizations and emergency services will train for an emergency situation in which the focus is on caring for and providing care to uninjured passengers.

The exercise is part of the annual safety program and takes place under realistic conditions without fire simulation or make-up actors portraying injured people. In addition to the airport fire department, the Nuremberg fire department, the Nuremberg Airport border police inspection and other regional aid organizations are also involved. The rescue workers arrive at the airport with blue lights and sirens, but without operations on the apron. The exercise meets the requirements of international safety standards and serves to increase operational safety.
