Lufthansa Aviation Training will be the world's first customer to put the Airbus Virtual Procedure Trainer into operation. It is a new way for pilots to learn procedures with an intelligent VR system.

Lufthansa Aviation Training (LAT) offers a new and innovative procedure training for pilots by integrating the Airbus Virtual Procedure Trainer (VPT) into their training environment. LAT and the Lufthansa Group will be the first to train with this intelligent VR system. The VR solution allows flight crews to immerse themselves in an authentic, digitized cockpit to train on Airbus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

“As part of this unique partnership, training know-how will be shared to develop an innovative, integrated approach to pilot training. The resulting training improvements will enable further use cases as well as regulatory acceptance. This will be done on the basis of the jointly collected data and aims for a training-oriented, flexible solution to support key competencies,” says Gilad Scherpf, Head of Aviation Training Development Lufthansa Group.
