The management of the Austrian airline Lauda sent the employees of the Stuttgart base bad news on Friday. The base will be closed and all employees will receive the notice.

The reason given by David O'Brien and Andreas Gruber is that 88 percent of the co-pilots and flight attendants accepted the new collective agreement, but only seven pilots. This would not allow the deficit base in Stuttgart to continue operating, which is why it will be closed on October 30, 2020.

In this circular it is pointed out that the terminations will be distributed at the end of July 2020. Some pilots have a three-month period while others only have six weeks. The employment relationship should end at the end of October 2020. As a precaution, the Lauda management also points out that no alternative jobs are available in the company. The decision is regretted, but all jobs in Stuttgart will be lost as a result.
