There are things that you don't have to understand: Lauda boss David O'Brien on Wednesday prepared the Viennese workforce for impending cuts and promoted unpaid vacations, and just one day later the temporary employment agency Crewlink enrolled applicants and announced a training course for new flight attendants at.

Through the Irish personnel leasing company, a significant part of the cabin crew is employed by Lauda Europe and Laudamotion, which will cease operations at the end of the month. Aviation Direct has the cover letter that the participants in the courses that were canceled in March due to the corona pandemic and applicants who were originally canceled. This announces the resumption of flight attendant courses for Lauda. If you are interested in the job, the time window for approval is extremely short in typical Ryanair fashion: the approval must be sent by email by Friday, October 9, 2020. Otherwise the train has literally left.

The announcement that new cabin crew for Lauda will be trained by the temporary employment agency Crewlink from November stands in stark contrast to the statement by company boss David O'Brien that tough cuts are imminent in Vienna. Incidentally, the personnel leasing company does not name any basis on which the young flight attendants should work in the future. Lauda closed the Stuttgart station at the end of September 2020, Düsseldorf suffered the same fate at the end of the month. That leaves Palma de Mallorca and Vienna. In the summer flight schedule of 2021, Lauda Europe wants to “transplant” some Airbus planes elsewhere and open one or more new bases. Whether and where, however, has not yet been decided. So why new flight attendants are trained when the Vienna base is being prepared for cuts at the same time, you don't have to understand.

In Düsseldorf, David O'Brien justified the closure of the base with high airport and handling costs and claimed that they would not have accommodated. In Wednesday's circular, the head of Lauda Europe called for costs at Vienna Airport to fall in order to keep the cuts lower. Lauda flight attendants secretly hope that they will not face the same fate as their colleagues in Düsseldorf.

    Good day!

To what extent can one understand that on the one hand there is a relatively critical report (which is quite important in order to get an idea of Ryanair or Lauda) and on the other hand Lauda advertising is placed on this portal? Some kind of love-hate relationship ???

Kind regards from Graz, which is sunny at least today

Advertising has no influence, and certainly nothing positive, on our reporting. The areas of advertising marketing and editing are separate and about 1.700 km apart. The editors act completely independently of the advertising sales and this has no say in the reporting. We published a little FAQ a few days ago: On our own behalf: Welcome to Aviation.Direct!
