Lauda Europe: New base in Zadar from May 2021

Lauda Europe: New base in Zadar from May 2021

Advertising

Last year the Austrian Laudamotion wanted to open a base in Zadar, Croatia. This did not happen due to the corona pandemic. The Maltese successor company Lauda Europe intends to do so from the beginning of May 2021. Various destinations are served with the Airbus A320 on behalf of the sister company Ryanair DAC.

In Zadar there is also the absurd fact that planes from Buzz, Lauda Europe, Ryanair DAC and Malta Air will meet there. However, the vast majority of the routes are to be operated by the only Airbus A320 operator in the group. Buzz is limited to the destinations Poznan and Prague. Malta Air will fly to Zadar from Germany and Italy. Everything that is left over should be served by Ryanair DAC itself.

According to the current planning status, Lauda Europe will serve the following destinations from Zadar under the FR code:

  • Berlin-Brandenburg
  • Vienna (ex VIE served)
  • Weeze
  • Memmingen
  • Marseille
  • Breslau
  • Krakow
  • Gothenburg

The routes will start from May 2021, although the vast majority of routes will not start until the month of July, which has been in high demand in the past. The company did not answer how many A320 aircraft are to be stationed in the Croatian city. According to reports, there are initially two machines.

In view of the fact that the fleet currently consists of 29 aircraft and an increase of four more A320s is planned, further bases are expected to open in summer 2021. Due to the withdrawal from Düsseldorf and Stuttgart are currently only Vienna and Palma left. Even including Zadar, the demand for machines is not that high.
