The Swiss Hotelplan Group will in future be headed by Laura Meyer. The manager is already a member of the board of directors and will succeed Thomas Stirnimann at the beginning of 2021. In future, he will assume a role on the Group's Board of Directors.

“I am delighted that we have found the ideal CEO for the Hotelplan Group. Laura Meyer has extensive digital and entrepreneurial know-how with international experience ”, says Fabrice Zumbrunnen, President of the General Management of the Federation of Migros Cooperatives and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hotelplan Group. “Due to the serious consequences of the coronavirus, the travel industry is undergoing an incomparable structural change in the direction of digitization. I am convinced that Laura Meyer, thanks to her experience in this area, will provide important new impulses for the future of the Hotelplan Group, which are geared towards the needs of customers, ”says Fabrice Zumbrunnen.

Thomas Stirnimann has led the Hotelplan Group since November 2012 and has successfully developed the travel group over the past eight years despite constantly new challenges in the tourism business. “Under his leadership, Hotelplan Group and its various business units have not only moved closer to travel-loving customers, but have also maintained their operational success on the road to success before the setback caused by the effects of the coronavirus, despite strong competition," says Fabrice Zumbrunnen. “I would like to thank him warmly for his long and tireless commitment and I am pleased that Hotelplan Group can continue to count on Thomas Stirnimann's extensive industry experience.” Thomas Stirnimann will lead the Hotelplan Group until the end of the year until the CEO change, which has been planned for some time, and then strengthen its board of directors from January 1, 2021.
