Leipzig: Freebird Europe announces Larnaka

The Maltese airline Freebird Europe intends to fly to Larnaka once a week from Leipzig / Halle in the summer flight schedule 2022. An Airbus A320 is to be used on this route every Thursday.

Freebird Europe is the Maltese branch of the Turkish Freebird Airlines. Since Turkey is not a member of the European Union, you need an EU carrier to fly within the Union area. For example, the competitor Corendon also has a Malta offshoot that pursues a similar business model.

From Leipzig / Halle, the Heraklion destination will be served four times a week by Freebird Europe in the summer of 2022. It is currently planned that the Airbus A320 will be flown on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.

Freebird Europe's fleet currently consists of two machines of this type. These carry the registrations 9H-FHA and 9H-FHB. The average age of the fleet is 13 years. The Turkish parent operates eight Airbus A320s, which are on average 12,2 years old.
