The Italian Lufthansa subsidiary Air Dolomiti has announced the start of a non-stop connection between Linz and Frankfurt am Main. This should be served up to twice a day in codeshare with the parent company.

The Frankfurt route has been idle since the beginning of the corona crisis. The reactivation was pushed back again and again. A specific date has now been set for the resumption. In the future, the route will be operated by Air Dolomiti.

“We are very pleased to announce the resumption of the flight from Linz Airport to Frankfurt: Passengers departing from Linz in Upper Austria can easily reach Frankfurt or the numerous intercontinental destinations that the hub offers. In cooperation with the parent company Lufthansa we will be 2 daily. Offer flights to meet the needs of all of our passengers. Due to the challenging market situation, we have coordinated particularly closely with Linz Airport and are looking forward to further cooperation, ”says Jörg Eberhart, President & CEO of Air Dolomiti.

“We are very pleased that Upper Austria is connected to Frankfurt again and that we were able to successfully conclude our negotiations with Air Dolomiti. Now that there is clarity about the opening steps from May 19 and the green passport has also been announced in June, it makes sense to resume flights from Linz to Frankfurt from the end of June, because demand for them should then be there again. In view of the development of the Covid19 pandemic, we discussed intensively with Air Dolomiti in the operational planning at which point in time the resumption is most promising. We have come to the joint assessment that it should be possible to ensure a stable flight schedule by the end of June. We assume that the vaccination progress and the introduction of the green pass will make a significant contribution to stimulating the business travel market and hope that the route will be well received by the market ”, says Norbert Draskovits, Managing Director of Linz Airport.

Frankfurt - Linz 08:55 - 10:00 (EN8040)
