The Upper Austrian charter airline Globe Air is building a new maintenance hangar on land leased from Linz-Hörsching Airport. Those responsible for the project assume that construction work will begin in spring 2023.

The maintenance facility will be built on an area of 3.250 square meters and is located near the former charter car park 2. There will also be an adjoining building in which workshops, parts storage and administration rooms will be located.

In addition to the construction of the taxiway and the apron, various supply lines for district heating, water, waste water, electricity and data lines are being provided by Linz Airport. “I expect an optimization of our maintenance processes and shorter downtimes of the fleet in the course of ongoing maintenance from our own maintenance hangar. The aim of this significant investment is also to reduce the cost situation in order to remain competitive," says Globe Air boss Bernhard Fragner.

Airport boss Norbert Draskovits said: “We have been working closely with GlobeAir for many years. For us at Linz Airport, it is an honor that GlobeAir has decided to implement this project at our location".
