Due to further CoV restrictions, the passenger numbers for the Indonesian low-coster are down. As a consequence, the airline is pulling the rip cord - and sending around 8.000 employees on compulsory leave.
One had to start immediately to reduce the company's cost structure to a minimum. Anything else would have fatal consequences for Lion Air, as reported by aero.de. Currently, only ten to 15 percent of the normal 1400 flights per day could be carried out. The airline has a total of more than 23.000 employees, so the measure affects around 25 to 35 percent of the workforce.
