The British Airways subsidiary BA Cityflyer, which mainly operates from London City Airport, is standardizing the fleet to the Embraer 190 model. The six E170s, which have been parked for some time due to the corona pandemic, will in future be in the United States fly for Envoy Air under the American Eagle brand.

British Airways has all of its short-haul flights from London City operated by its subsidiary BA Cityflyer. In recent years the fleet has been switched from BAe-146 to Embraer 170 and 190. In future only the E190 will be operated. The six E170s will be handed over to Envoy Air in the USA.

BA Cityflyer will therefore continue to fly with 22 Embraer 190s. Two more machines of this type are still to be delivered. The bottom line is that in terms of the number of aircraft, the fleet will be reduced by four. The E170s have not been used for a long time. Only the G-LCYI was kept in readiness as a backup aircraft, but has since been decommissioned.
