London-Heathrow gets rapid corona tests

London-Heathrow is the first to introduce rapid Covid-19 tests. Passengers would have the opportunity to get tested before boarding.

Such a test would cost the equivalent of 89 euros and would be processed via terminals 2 and 5, like the news paper GTP reported. A result should be available after an hour. And pave the way into the interior of the aircraft. The British airlines British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Cathay Pacific are said to be the first beneficiaries of this offer. Test capacities are to be made available to these airlines in advance.

Meanwhile, there are also initial reactions from abroad. The Italian government declared this test procedure inadmissible. Accordingly, the Covid-19 rapid tests do not meet the requirements applicable there, passengers must therefore be refused entry. The British Transport Minister Grant Shapps, however, hopes to be able to introduce this test system for international arrivals in Great Britain.
