Wilmington Trust and two other Lessors are going to court in London against the Indian low-cost airline Spicejet. It is about a sum of 16,2 million US dollars that the carrier owes the Lessors.

The plaintiff is urging that the case should be decided based on the file situation without holding an oral hearing, reports CH-Aviation.com, citing court documents. The other side, on the other hand, argues that settlement negotiations should be carried out first, but that an oral hearing should not be dispensed with.

Spicejet has received a number of lawsuits over the past few months. For example, you lost in the first instance against the Canadian aircraft manufacturer de Havilland. He claimed unpaid down payments for ordered DHC Dash 8-400 as compensation and won. Spicejet announced that an appeal will be filed. In aviation, the United Kingdom is often chosen as the place of jurisdiction for disputes.
