Aviation conference “Smart Airports, Cities and Regions” takes place in Vienna

An international conference entitled "Smart Airports, Cities and Regions" will be held at Vienna-Schwechat Airport from May 23 to 25, 2022. The focus is on innovation, climate protection and the experiences from the pandemic.

How aviation will change over the next few years, how airlines and airports can be more innovative here and how airports are developing from being a transport hub to becoming an airport city and region are just a few of the topics that will be discussed at the international specialist conference “Smart Airports, Cities and Regions ’ will be discussed from May 23rd to 25th, 2022 in the AirportCity Space at Vienna Airport. The congress will take place in Europe for the first time.

 Renowned aviation experts from all over the world will present their innovation strategies and projects for the time after the Covid 4 crisis in the ultra-modern AirportCity Space conference location in Office Park 19. Exciting lecture sessions on the subject of recovery, politics, business and development ensure an interesting exchange of information.

The event will be opened by Arturs Saveljevs, Board Member and CCO of Riga International Airport, Chris LeTourneur, Managing Director of MXD Development Strategists, and Vienna Airport Board Members Julian Jäger and Günther Ofner. Further lectures and presentations will follow from experts from Budapest, Geneva, Copenhagen, Rome, Salzburg and Zurich airports as well as from the Schiphol Area Development Company, Drees & Sommer, Aeroparker, World Trade Center Association, Adesso Mobile Solutions and many other companies. As part of a comprehensive airport tour, guests can visit Austria's largest photovoltaic system, which is currently being built at Vienna Airport, as well as numerous other highlights of AirportCity at Vienna Airport.
