Lufthansa board member Detlef Kayser publicly speaks out in favor of compulsory vaccination for flight personnel. Among other things, he argued against “Bild am Sonntag” that Hong Kong made this mandatory for crews.

Kayser expects Canada and the United States to follow suit soon. The Verdi union, on the other hand, argues that most countries would allow exceptions for flight personnel.

The Kranich board member said to “Bild am Sonntag” among other things: “As a global airline, we advocate mandatory vaccination for our crews and also need a way to record vaccination data”. The current legal situation in Germany does not allow the employer to query the vaccination status.
