The Boeing 787-9 with the registration D-ABPB was officially christened “Wiesbaden” on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. The ceremony was performed by Hesse's Prime Minister Boris Rhein at Frankfurt Airport.

Since May 22, it has been deployed to destinations in Canada and the USA. Their first destination with passengers on board was Dallas, Texas. The D-ABPB is the fifth aircraft in total to bear the name "Wiesbaden" around the world.

“The Boeing 787-9 sets standards in sustainability and comfort. It is one of the quietest and most economical long-haul aircraft in our fleet and offers all customers a premium flight experience. With these qualities, she fits in perfectly with the Hessian state capital Wiesbaden, whose name she will carry out into the world as an international ambassador,” says Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr.
