Lufthansa Cargo is expanding its route network in the 2023 summer timetable to meet the increased demand.

In particular, the route network will be expanded to include flights to China: in future Lufthansa Cargo will be offering a total of ten freighter flights per week to Shanghai (PVG). Lufthansa Cargo also flies to Chengdu (CTU) on two of these Shanghai connections and is doubling its capacities there. In addition, the number of weekly flights to Hong Kong (HKG) will increase from five to six, including one with a stop in Almaty (ALA). This destination in Kazakhstan was last part of the route network in 2019 and is now being reintroduced. The combined connection from Frankfurt via Mumbai (BOM) to Hyderabad (HYD) will also be increased to two flights per week.

Lufthansa Cargo continues to offer more than 50 weekly connections on short and medium-haul routes, using two Airbus A321F aircraft. By the end of July, the A321 Freighter fleet will grow to four aircraft. The associated adjustments and expansions of the flight plan on short and medium-haul routes are currently still being planned, as the carrier announced in a broadcast.
