Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr is thinking out loud that narrow-body aircraft could be added to the fleet of the freight subsidiary Lufthansa Cargo. The manager explained this during an analyst conference.

Spohr confirmed that possible patterns are currently being evaluated. He thinks the project is "very interesting" from the point of view of profitability. A final decision has not yet been made. The Lufthansa CEO also did not name a specific pattern that could be floated in.

If the project is implemented, it would be "back to the roots", because according to CH-Aviation.com Lufthansa Cargo had Boeing 1997 freighters in its fleet until 737. The Boeing 757 and Airbus A321 models are currently very popular in the industry. These are former passenger planes that are being converted into freighters. This is especially true for the last-mentioned model, because Airbus does not offer a cargo version of the A321 ex works.
