On Friday, the German Paralympics team was flown from Frankfurt am Main to China by Lufthansa. The delegation was bid farewell by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at Germany's largest airport.

With flight number LH 724, 18 athletes, around 30 coaches and officials flew to Beijing Capital International Airport in a Boeing 747-8 with registration D-ABYA. 18 top athletes are on board, including the two Paralympic winners, para-skier Anna-Lena Forster and Andrea Rothfuss, and Nordic Paralympic para-ski champion Martin Fleig.
