The Lufthansa Group will no longer fly to the Ukrainian airports of Odessa and Kiev-Borispil until further notice. The connections of Swiss, Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa have been suspended indefinitely since Monday.

It was officially announced that there will be no flights to Borispil and Odessa until the end of February 2022. The Lviv destination is not affected by this measure. The background is security concerns due to the current situation. KLM had already temporarily suspended its Ukraine connections.

Germany and Austria, among others, had previously issued official travel warnings and asked their citizens to leave Ukraine. With more and more flights being canceled, this is becoming an increasingly complicated task. Leasing companies have cashed in on some Ukrainian airlines' planes as major insurance companies refuse to provide coverage in Ukraine's flight dream. For example, Bees Airline had to fly the entire fleet to the EU.

The low-cost airline Ryanair said on request that those Ukraine destinations that are still being served will continue to be served. The further development of the situation is monitored very closely and decisions are made at short notice.
