In the global climate ranking 2022 of the non-profit organization CDP, the German aviation group received a top rating for its CO2 reduction strategy and its implementation and was thus able to improve again compared to the previous year.

On a scale from A (best result) to D-, the company was rated A- in the highest band (previous year: B). This makes it one of the top 5 airlines worldwide with the best rating, according to the carrier in a press release.

CDP has given the Lufthansa Group top marks in reporting in the following assessment categories: Scope 1 & 2 (direct emissions & indirect emissions from purchased energy), Scope 3 (indirect emissions within the supply chain), corporate governance, risk management processes, targets and initiatives for emission reduction.

“The top rating in the CDP ranking confirms our pioneering role in the industry. I'm proud that we were able to improve this year," says Christina Foerster, Board Member for Brand Management and Sustainability at the Lufthansa Group.
