According to Lufthansa boss Carsten Spohr, the demand for business travel has recovered surprisingly quickly.

"Business travel has returned faster and stronger than expected," the head of the AUA mother is quoted by ORF. The recovery is particularly noticeable in the home markets of Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and Northern Italy. Lufthansa recently used more and larger aircraft, reintroduced the hourly service on some domestic German routes and expanded the short-haul offer by another 15 percent.

Spohr expects the trend to continue into December, as business travel is less seasonal than vacation flights. “There will be no sudden drop in demand in winter this year.” The longer season for vacation travel this year and the opening of the USA to travelers in November also contribute to this. In the medium term, the decline in business travel volume due to the CoV crisis will be ten percent "or even less"
