From November 2022, Lufthansa will take two Airbus A320s on a wet lease from Austrian Airlines. The two medium-haul jets are used from Frankfurt am Main to Graz, Vienna, Helsinki, Amsterdam and Paris-Charles de Gaulle.

As is usual with wet lease operations, Lufthansa flight numbers are used. On the Graz route, Austrian Airlines will take over the two rotations that were previously carried out with crane aircraft. The Air Dolomiti rotation is not affected by the AUA wet lease.

According to a spokeswoman for Austrian Airlines, the agreement is initially limited to the end of December 2022. The media officer explained to Aviation.Direct: “In order to balance capacities, Austrian Airlines will take over air traffic from Lufthansa from November to the end of December 2022 as part of a wet lease agreement. Flights between Frankfurt and Vienna, Helsinki, Amsterdam, Paris and Graz will be operated with two Austrian A320 machines.

The aircraft is used from Vienna and Frankfurt am Main. No planes are stationed in Styria. According to Austrian Airlines, Graz is served as part of the regular rotations.
