The maintenance company Lufthansa Technik and the airline Air France have agreed on a contract for the maintenance of Auxiliary Power Units (APU) on the Airbus A350 aircraft. The term of the agreement for the overhaul of HGT1700 APUs is initially six years.
In the next six years, Lufthansa Technik will provide extensive MRO services (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) for the APUs of the Honeywell HGT1700 type at the Hamburg location. Lufthansa Technik has long been certified by the manufacturer Honeywell as the official partner for the MRO of the HGT1700 and as the official guarantee station for this APU type. The services for Air France include a large part of the service portfolio, such as tests, repairs and overhauls, the exchange of line replaceable units and life-limited parts as well as AOG (aircraft on ground) support and engineering services. Both working time and material are billed using a “not-to-exceed” model, so that Air France can exercise full cost control over the agreed services at all times.
"Flying our A350 in the best operating conditions is a top priority for passenger satisfaction," said Géry Mortreux, Executive Vice President Air France Industries. “When it comes to the technical support of the HGT1700 APUs of our latest Airbus wide-bodied aircraft, we can rely on the solutions and know-how of Lufthansa Technik. We have full confidence in their ability to deliver the high level of service that we expect.”
