The first destination Lufthansa will serve with Boeing 787-9 is Toronto. This was announced by the company, which plans to take over some machines of this type this year.

When exactly the first Dreamliner can be used at Lufthansa is not really in the hands of the carrier. The background to this is that the FAA has ordered a delivery stop and there is currently no short-term solution in sight. It is currently expected that the measure could be lifted towards the end of October 2021.

Lufthansa announced in May 2020 that it had ordered five Airbus A350-900s and five Boeing 787-9s. The first American-made unit should be put into service this year. The four other copies have been announced for delivery in the coming year.
