The fronts are hardening: The Lufthansa Group is terminating a long-term agreement on feeder services to Condor long-haul flights at the end of May 2021.
Seamless overall trips with checked baggage and only one ticket are no longer possible for those changing over among Condor guests. Bad news for the vacation airline, who only knew how to save themselves with government aid. Air routes such as Zurich – Frankfurt – Jamaica would thus be a thing of the past. Upon request from TravelInside Magdalena Hauser, Director Communications Condor, confirms the news: “We can confirm that the Lufthansa Group has terminated the so-called 'Special Prorate Agreement' with Condor as of June 2021. The agreement will continue to run until the end of May, so the feeder option for our guests is secured for the next six months. We are examining the options for the time after that. ”The Kranich Group justified the step by stating that they currently have to utilize their own aircraft and secure jobs. According to company circles, Condor, on the other hand, is examining which competition law steps are possible against Lufthansa.
