The airspace over all EU countries is completely closed to Russian aircraft. The ban went into effect last night.
In Austria and Germany, the ban has been in effect since Sunday afternoon. The airspaces over Greece and Cyprus have now been completely closed to Russian aircraft, as reported by ORF. In addition, non-EU countries are joining. Canada, Great Britain, Norway, North Macedonia and Iceland have closed their airspace to Russian planes because of the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine. The bans apply to all Russian-registered and Russian-controlled aircraft, including private jets. Flights for humanitarian purposes are exempt, and only after government approval, according to the Greek authorities.
