The IAG subsidiary Aer Lingus will have a new boss in Lynne Embleton on April 6, 2021. She succeeds Donal Moriarty, who has acted temporarily as CEO since October.

Embleton previously headed the cargo division of the International Airlines Group and has held various positions for British Airways in her previous career. Moriarty will again act as Chief Corporate Affairs Officer.

“I would like to thank Donal Moriarty for his work as interim chief executive. He did an excellent job in the most difficult year in Aer Lingus history. Lynne has a lot of experience within the group. At IAG Cargo, she led the company as it adapted quickly to the COVID-19 pandemic and made significant strides in the digital transformation of the business. I am confident that she has the skills to guide Aer Lingus through the pandemic and enable it to maintain a strong competitive position going forward, ”said Luis Gallego, IAG General Manager.
