Following the example of Hong Kong, the Chinese special administrative region of Macau also wants to lure additional tourists into the country with the help of free tickets for flights, buses and ferries. In this context, a large-scale advertising campaign has been launched together with the airline Air Macau.

Macau, located around 50 kilometers from the Chinese Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, was under Portuguese sovereignty until 1999. Since the return to the People's Republic of China, the city has been run as a so-called special administrative zone. The city, which is still shaped by the cultural influence of Portugal, is particularly well known for gambling, but also for the Macau Grand Prix, which has been held on the Guia Circuit since 1954. The route is considered one of the most difficult in the world.

From now until June 30, 2023, tourists can take advantage of a limited-time Buy One Get One Free offer. When you purchase a return ticket on Air Macau for flights departing from Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Thailand or Vietnam, you will receive one additional ticket for free.

But the MGTO not only wants to make traveling by plane more attractive, but also other means of transport. Together with the local transport company, the MGTO has launched the “Macao Treat” program. After that, tourists staying in Macau will be given free return tickets to encourage longer stays. The offer is valid for Hong Kong residents, Taiwanese and international tourists visiting Hong Kong. During the period of this promotion from April 10th to June 30th, the program applies to most modes of transport such as HK-MO Express, One Bus Hong Kong Macau and Eternal East Cross-Border Coach, as well as for those arriving by sea via TurboJet and Cotai Water Jet – arriving by ferry takes just an hour.
