The low-cost airline Wizz Air was able to carry a total of 2021 passengers in May 832.538. The occupancy rate is reported at 66,1 percent. In the same month last year, the low-cost airline had 126.549 passengers with a load factor of 61,1 percent. In April 2021, Wizz Air had 564.634 passengers on board.

However, the comparison with May 2020 is not very meaningful, as flight operations were greatly reduced due to the first corona wave. Last year, Wizz Air wanted to reactivate various routes from Vienna-Schwechat very early on, but had to postpone many destinations due to the many flight bans. It also became apparent in the course of the previous year that the low-cost airline has changed its strategy and is no longer reactivating the routes as quickly as possible as a "pioneer". On the contrary: Even today, many Wizz Air routes are still paused while competitors have been flying for some time.

A comparison of the most recent transport performance with the values from May 2019 shows that Wizz Air is well below that. At that time there were 3.470.889 passengers with a load factor of 92,3 percent. Wizz Air recently announced the addition of new routes to Croatia from Vienna-Schwechat.
