Son Sant Joan Airport in Palma de Mallorca is getting new and larger passenger boarding bridges.

The state operator Aena has now tendered the contract for both Terminals A and D. 12 million euros are to be taken into hand for this. Most German travelers are less likely to see these terminals, reports mallorcazeitung.es. Because the flights to Germany are usually handled via Terminal C. As soon as the expansion was announced, the first critical voices were heard. For the deputy Josep Ferrà of the left regional party is the proposition "disproportionate and unsuitable for the needs of the island, its economy and its well-being". He also criticized the fact that the airport's general plan dates from 2001 - and the environmental reports from the 90s.
