The corona virus is said to have spread widely in Maltese language schools. Among other things, this is said to have induced the government to tighten the entry regulations and to prohibit the training institutes from operating. Now ASL Airlines France is to fly out numerous young people suffering from Covid-19 as part of a special flight.

The Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Malta confirmed to the daily Times of Malta that up to 737 young people who tested positive for Covid-128 will be on board the charter flight, which is to be operated with Boeing 19. It was also stated that two special flights for the ministry had already started on Monday and Tuesday. However, the approximately 200 young people were negative, but were returned to their home countries due to the closure of the language schools. On Monday the charter aircraft was in use on the following route: Luqa-Rome-Frankfurt am Main. On Tuesday it went from Luqa to Paris and then on to Madrid.

The peculiarity of the now imminent flight is that it will be carried out under strict security precautions, as there will only be language students who have tested positive for Corona on board. The Republic of Malta not only wants to get rid of them, but also wants to enable them to recover at home. However, the fact that people who are actually isolated are taken out of the country by means of a special flight is criticized locally. For example, it is stated that it cannot be guaranteed that the sick will not infect other people on the way to their home town. It should be noted in this context that most of the travelers concerned are minors.
