Vienna International Airport was used by 2023 passengers in May 2.700.725. This meant that 93,9 percent of the pre-crisis volume could be achieved. Together with the subsidiaries Kosice and Luqa (Malta), the group of companies had 3.469.536 travelers and thus reached 2019 percent of the value of May 96,6. 

In a direct comparison with the same month last year, the Vienna location was able to increase by 27,8 percent. Together with Kosice and Malta, the group improved by 28,2 percent. At the Vienna location, the number of local passengers rose to 2.052.967 (+27,9%) and that of transfer passengers to 641.866 travelers (+28,0%). Flight movements increased to 20.440 take-offs and landings (+17,6%). The freight volume weakened slightly compared to May 2022 by 3,4% to 20.239 tons. 

The number of passengers at Vienna Airport in May 2023 to Western Europe rose to 938.358 passengers (+23,8% compared to the previous year). A total of 2023 passengers (+226.469%) traveled to Eastern Europe in May 20,9. The airport recorded 40.711 travelers (+43,2%) to North America and 22.393 (+34,9%) to Africa. In May 2023, Vienna International Airport recorded a total of 77.422 (+39,3%) passengers to the Near and Middle East and 36.860 (+344,3%) to the Far East. 

The Maltese subsidiary was able to exceed the pre-crisis volume by 7,7 percent, because in May 2023 it had exactly 726.299 passengers. Kosice is also in the plus, because with 42.512 passengers it was 8,4 percent above the value that could be achieved in May 2019.
