On Saturday, Malta MedAir is on behalf of Medsky Airways for presentation purposes with the Airbus A320 with the registration 9H-MSA from Luqa (Malta) to Misrata (Libya). There the client officially introduced himself to the public.
Medsky Airways is not an independent airline, but a company that charters aircraft and markets the seats on its own account. The state-owned Malta MedSky acts as flight partner and will fly 9H-MSA and 9H-MSB for the Libyan-based company. The two aircraft will be flying in Medsky livery.
Originally, the Maltese government of Malta created MedAir to put some pressure on Air Malta pilots. It was also considered that the A321XLR long-haul project should be carried out by this carrier. However, there is no longer any cooperation between Malta MedAir and Air Malta. The "second state airline" has developed into a charter and ACMI provider. One flies for Corendon Airlines and soon also Medsky Airways.
The flights for the customer from Libya are to start in the middle of this year. The two MedAir aircraft will primarily be used from Misrata. After the presentation, which took place on Saturday, the 9H-MSA ferry was flown to Sofia. Some maintenance work is carried out there by an MRO operation.
